How do I get rid of repetitive icons in my Samsung Galaxy Ace?

There are repetitive icons in my Applications menu. Some of the applications' icons (e.g. Instagram, Photo Collage, and some games that I downloaded) have been doubled and it's annoying me. If I click on the "x" button on the upper-right corner of the icon, it uninstalls the application. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall all my applications coz it's a lot of work. Please help.

Back up your apps with Astro File manager, and uninstall. Ideally do a complete factory reset.
You shouldn't have duplicate icons.

Is your Ace rooted? Have you sideloaded those apps or are they from the PlayStore?
I've done a lot of silly things with Android phones, but I never encountered or heard of that glitch...
