Cast your mind back 48 hours and you might remember I scribbled a bit about RIM’s plans for 2012 and beyond. Not that there was much to scribble about.
Well, BGR is back with a more complete roadmap, alongside a ton of specs and dates and so on.
We were expecting RIM’s first BlackBerry 10 smartphone, the BlackBerry London, to land in September, but BGR suggests – based on this new info – that it might be October. Oh for f…
The BlackBerry Curve 9320 will have a 2.44in display (320x240), 3.2MP camera, full QWERTY, optical trackpad and 512MB RAM. The BlackBerry Curve 9220 appears to be much the same, ‘cept with a 2MP camera. Both are expected soonish.
Wireless Media Server will allow you to “Wirelessly share all your favourite pictures, music, and movies among other devices by turning your BlackBerry into a mobile media server.” The arrows on the slide point to a laptop, TV and PS3.
The 3G BlackBerry PlayBook will have a 7in display (1024x600), 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 5MP/3MP camera combo, 1GB RAM, 32GB Flash storage, 1080p video, HDMI output and BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0.
Interestingly, RIM’s stats suggest that 72% of BlackBerry PlayBook owners are aged 35+, 84% are male, and their average income is $78K. More money than sense, apparently. I jest!
