One of the questions we’ve been hearing lots recently is: “Where’s Jelly Bean for my Samsung Galaxy S III?” They’re an impatient breed, those Samsung Galaxy S III owners.
Well, there’s good news for a select few, as Three Mobile in the UK has begun rolling out official Jelly Bean (Android 4.1) for Samsung's beloved flagship.
Three Mobile, once very much the laughing stock of UK mobile networks, is in fact the first to rollout Jelly Bean for Samsung Galaxy S III owners.
Samsung Galaxy S III-owning Three customers should automatically receive notification of the Jelly Bean update. Failing that, just tap Settings > Check for updates.
As always, we’d recommend installing the update over Wi-Fi as opposed to data (this particular update is a whopping 286MB), and with a fully juiced battery.
As for Samsung Galaxy S III owners on other networks, they shouldn’t have long to wait for Jelly Bean.
Samsung tells Pocket-lint: "Samsung UK can confirm that the roll out of Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) has begun for our Galaxy S III customers and will be available across all networks over the coming weeks, pending software testing and approvals."
Jelly Bean introduces improved notifications, automatically resizing widgets, and Google Now. Check out Everything you need to know about Jelly Bean.
