Safest way to clean the ports on my mobile?

What's the safest way to get into the ports on my mobile to clean them? They look a little dirty! Is it safe to use rubbing alcohol?

No. Certain industrial adhesives will dissolve if you touch'em with rubbing alcohol.
Go to a good computer store and get the proper stuff.

As far as I can tell all computers are cleaned with compressed air and vacuum cleaner. I have never tried using any liquids on computer parts, except on sealed ones (CPU, memory, heatsinks, etc.). I'm assuming same would apply for smartphone.
Watch out when using compressed air as it's cold and can cause condensation when applied continuously.

You can also end up blowing dirt INTO the phone where it can cause even more trouble ;)
