Did Samsung announce the price for the Galaxy S III on Thursday?

Yup, the first retailers are now selling the Samsung Galaxy S3 as a pre-order SIM free phone at £499.99, expect this to get a little cheaper as more retailers receive their own stocks at the end of the month.
Phones4U are a whole £100 more expensive for a SIM free Galaxy S3 - see here :{

I think amazon and expansey are also selling it too sim free 16,32gb and play.com which is supposed to be the cheapest.they even promis that if the price comes down by then a full refund of that amount will be made.

With over 9 million pre-orders for the S3, I'd be surprised if any retailers lower their prices pre-launch, what's the point?

It's quite useful, last year Play.com had the S2 up for £700 months before it was due to be released, if they reassure people that they'll be refunded for any price drops, it encourages more people to pre-order.
