The Samsung ATIV S was originally unveiled as the South Korean manufacturer’s first Windows Phone 8 handset at IFA 2012 in August. It was expected to be a Windows Phone 8 launch handset, but has been subject to a series of mysterious delays.
The latest whispers suggest the Samsung ATIV S will arrive before the end of the year. Ahem. Honest.
That’s what a Samsung spokesperson tells TechRadar, without providing a specific date or reason for the tardiness.
The spokesperson says only: “We've heard from HQ that the product will be available by the end of this year."
When the Samsung ATIV S does finally arrive, it’ll offer a 4.8in Super AMOLED display, dual-core 1.5GHz processor, and 8MP rear camera.
Other Samsung ATIV S specs include NFC (Near Field Communication), a 1.9MP front webcam, and a 2,300mAh battery.
