This whole Windows Phone 8 launch could’ve been a heck of a lot smoother, eh? As you maniacs have mentioned in the comments, the release of the Samsung ATIV S has seemingly been delayed.
We’ve heard whispers from various retailers about a possible Samsung ATIV S delay, and now we appear to have official confirmation from the South Koreans.
The Samsung ATIV S is one of five Windows Phone 8 launch(ish) handsets, and it was expected to land shortly after October’s Windows Phone 8 bash.
However, over at Handtec, they’re now expecting the Samsung ATIV S in the week commencing December 10. Clove concurs with that date, adding: “First stock delayed”.
TechRadar reached out to Samsung, and a spokesperson confirmed: "The launch of Samsung Ativ S in the UK is scheduled in December. We will be bringing our customers a unique and best-in-class Windows Phone 8 experience."
It’s a bit of a muddle across the Windows Phone 8 board, with the unofficial flagship Nokia Lumia 920 being exclusive to Phones 4u and EE.
Meanwhile, looking at Clove again, the blue HTC 8S launches on November 23, but the red and black are still TBC. As for the HTC 8X, the blue units are sold out while the release date for red units is unconfirmed.
On Expansys, they have plenty of the HTC 8X in black, however the yellow and red are on pre-order only, and blue units are "available on request".
Well, that's all nice and clear.
