We’ve been hearing a lot about the Samsung Galaxy R over the past few weeks. Essentially it’s a slightly more modest Samsung Galaxy S II, and will presumably be more affordable as a result.
Samsung and NVIDIA have teamed up to fire out a press release, confirming that the Galaxy R is coming soon. Well, to certain regions.
The press release notes that the Samsung Galaxy R is already available in Sweden, and promises that it’s “coming soon” to other regions, including North & Eastern Europe, South East & West Asia, Middle East Asia, and China. Hmm, no Western Europe?
Mike Rayfield, general manager of NVIDIA's mobile business, beamed: "Samsung's newest super phone shows off Tegra's multimedia power, and is a great example of what consumers expect from one of the world's top phone makers."
Key specs include a dual-core 1GHz Tegra 2 “super chip”, a 4.19in Super Clear LCD display, Gingerbread (Android 2.3) doing the OS honours, 720p video capture and 1080p playback, and 8GB of storage.
