Sammie has fired out a press release today, confirming the UK release date for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It’ll be available from August 4. Ah well, that’s only a couple of months behind the US.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 follows on from the fairly successful 7in version. An 8.9in model is expected later in the year too, giving consumers three sizes to choose from.
We first met the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 back at Mobile World Congress in February. However, Sammie went back to the drawing board in the face of the ultra-slim iPad 2, and revealed a new model the following month.
Vodafone UK initially announced that it’d exclusively carry the chunkier 8MP version (renamed the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1v), however it recently revealed that it would in fact stock the slimmer 3MP model instead.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a dual-core 1GHz processor, and will ship with Honeycomb (Android 3.1). It claims to be the world’s thinnest 10.1in tablet, with a thickness of just 8.6mm. No word on pricing just yet.
