Samsung GALAXY S 4 to Receive No Love from CyanogenMod Collaborators

Team Hacksung, the handful of people behind official CyanogenMod ports for Samsung’s devices, has already confirmed that there are no plans to offer support for the new device.

In fact, neither of the members of the team is looking to purchase the device or develop software for it, it seems, mainly due to the various bugs that it is expected to arrive with

The rest over on SoftPedia

Oh well, tbh I haven't taken TW off my N2 'cos it adds so much over and above stock Android.

How the f**k are you a mod on a phone website if you think TouchWiz adds to the Note 2? Sure the Note specific apps are great, but TW is an awful bug-ridden nightmare. I ended up selling my S3 because I got so frustrated with TW and couldn't be bothered to get rid of it.

I would have said something similar minus the "f*ck" and the o.t.t. disrespect. But that IS a taste issue. I hate TW, but I dislike Samsung's ENTIRE, ahem, design language, ahem...
I find all their devices ugly... My bh's Galaxy Camera is most likely the ugliest camera I have ever seen (and I own a Bushnell trail camera - which may just about beat it in the beauty department...) , and it features some very dubious software idiocies...

But then, I can top you: I find Android itself ugly. A toy OS for 2nd rate games gizmos.... There :p

It's not like they are the only developers and plenty of devices they don't own themselves end up getting cm versions when others do the behind the scenes work to make cm fit the hardware.

Curious though - as mentioned, my lady gots herself a Galaxy Camera. There's like not a single useful tweak or hack or ROM or anything. How few have they sold? There are the same 10 people on XDA talking in circles... It's quite annoying: the thing has a lot going in addition to the camera, but every time you turn it on, you boot into the camera app - lens zooms out etc...
And despite plenty of RAM and quad-core power the gallery takes ages to load, and more than 20 photos and scrolling takes longer than on the N8... It's great for zoom pics and video - nature shots etc.... (we have quite a few feral rescue cats around, plus deer etc etc) but otherwise: horrible.

Still quite early days for that though, that said I'm not surprised it's not flying off the shelves.
Guessing even for those pics a cheaper travel zoom or ultra zoom would be better?
Let alone a mirrorless camera.

LOL yep... what was she thinking? Screen visibility outside is horrible. Fully cranked up it's just about usable, and then the battery lasts for about 2 hours with WiFi off!

Did I mention: after 2 software updates it still asks every time you turn it on whether you'd like to change default storage to the "newly detected" SD card - that was in the bloody thing from day 1!

Err, the S-Pen, which I use a lot, doesn't work over and above being a bog standard stylus on CM, or it didn't when I last looked (which, tbf, was a while ago).

If you really sold a phone with an unlocked bootloader, which takes mere minutes to flash a custom ROM to, I'm probably safe to ignore any and all 'advice' you care to hand out.

Yes LOL The S3 is so easy to root and flash, it might as well be a built-in app...

That it looks nice and and and erm

Presume that's on all of them rather than a fault on hers. Sounds a bit irritating.

With ExynosAbuse, it is as simple as using an app haha ;).

I've got a Note 2 as well. I've custom rom'med every device I've had before this one. TW on the note is actually quite functional and there isn't really anything that a custom Rom could give me.
I have been tempted to stick MIUI on it though as I think TW isn't the nicest looking skin.
