Samsung Galaxy Ace won't turn on

Since around 5pm yesterday, my phone has not turned on. I've put it on charge and when it's charging, it shows the battery image but won't turn on. It is now fully charged and it still won't turn on at all. I've tried holding down the power, volume and menu button but it doesn't go into the recovery mode. This same thing has happened once before, but after around 8 hours it turned on.

Also, I don't know if this is worth noting - but I have dropped my phone down the toilet twice. However it has been working fine and normally I try to avoid it dying from no battery but unfortunately this time I couldn't.

but I have dropped my phone down the toilet twice. However it has been working fine and normally It can take months for water damage to run its course. Corrosion takes time. That is why most reputable repair shops do not fix water-damaged phones. New faults can crop up weeks and even months after the event. I have a water damaged E61. Everything was fine for 4 months, than the screen turned black in some places. The rest still worked fine.

Of cause, it could just be coincidence? Have you tried connecting the phone to KIES via USB? Does it recognise your phone? Maybe you can perform the Emergency Firmware recovery and do a reset that way?

Yeah true, I was just hoping it'd last longer til I got a new phone. That probably is why then. I'm just confused as the battery seems to be working as it will show the charging screen fine. (Also I have had problems with my power button since the whole toilet situation, which meant that often when I tried to lock my phone, it wouldn't work.)

KIES doesn't recognise my phone.
