Samsung galaxy Ace wont turn on...

It is more than two years and in last couple of months my Ace start to get problems. He wont turn on (it is simply dead, even a samsung logo wont show and home + start doesnt work either and after an hour he starts and it is completely random), wont charge, sometimes i can't type on keyboard (it show that i clicked on a letter, but wont write it)... I have tried Factory reset 3 times, i have flashed new ROM throw Odin and nothing helped me... Do you guys have an advice? (sorry for my bad english)

Help! My Samsung Galaxy Ace GT-S5830i is in trouble and is stuck in the android system recovery. Every time I turn it on the android recovery pops out. I really don't know what is going on with my phone right now. I just followed the steps and did what I need to do. *home+volume up+power , rebooting and resetting stuff* The result wasn't seem favorable and my phone has gotten worse. During the resetting my screen remains static, I waited 2hours until my phone died. I thought it just completed the factory reset, but when I turned it on, the ASR comes out after the Samsung logo w/o home-vol.up-powerkeys being pressed . I keep on repeating the steps all over again every time I turn my phone on because of that android system recovery that pops out. PLEASE ADVISE! THANKS!

more than 2 years old? Could be the battery - though the fault sounds like a different issue.
But 2 years is a typical time of death for a battery. Could be that the phone's software can no longer "communicate" with the battery and "thinks" there isn't one. Have you tried a different battery?

I forgot to write it, I bought new battery like a half a year ago and the problems are with both batteries, maybe i could try to buy new one, but i dont think that battery does all these problems :-/

Nah, you're right...
Considering that you already tried Odin, ROMs, factory resets (and KIES, I assume), I'm out of advice... Sorry. Maybe it's time for a pro-repair? Force flash the original ROM? From all I have read, few Aces lived as long as yours. (You may have noticed the related threads here on Mobot alone...there are thousands on other websites....)

I was looking for thosands of threads, but in all these they advise to reset factory data or use Odin... I´m a little bit desperate now, because it works fine, only the charging and starting is screwed.. And if i put the mobile phone to the customers service it will cost me more than new one :-/ Even though thanks for a reply :)

I'd cut my losses and get rid of the thing, if I was in your position. There are few (read: none which I can think of) modern smart phones from respected manufacturers, which are as bad as the original Galaxy Ace.

It's sad that almost all mobile phones (and not even phones) are made to survive only two years and then they die... So I'll look around for a new one, will you recommend me something as a replacement of G. Ace? :) Once again, thanks and sorry for my bad english ;)

What is your budget? How much money are you willing to spend? Are you in the UK?

Cacops  Mar. 2, 2014 at 14:29

I'm from the Czech republic. I don't know, but i'm willing to spend same money, as the Galaxy Ace cost as it was new :) At least you could recommend be which brand is good and which is not :) (because if you say that Ace is piece of ****, then i maybe did a wrong decision two years ago :) ) And I wondered if Windows phones are good or not :)

I know I say it a lot, but the Moto G is an amazing device for the money. If you can live with either 8GB or 16GB and the average camera (which is probably better than the one on the Ace) I'd fully recommend it as your next device.

Ascend G510? €100-ish...

Cacops  Mar. 2, 2014 at 15:31

Moto G looks great as well as Ascend, but I don't know, is huawei good choice? Its price is really good but I'm able to pay the money for Moto G (if it is higher quality). Now you know how much do i want to spend and both devices look great and you could tell me other suggestions, if you have :)

If you CAN afford the G, buy the G!!!! Best device in its class - NO DOUBT OR DEBATE!

Thats what i want to hear :D OK guys, thank you for your time and i hope, ill be happy with G :) bye all :)

Good luck.

You'll love the G, I moved from a Note 2 to a Moto G and I've noticed no drop in performance.

Agree. If I had to buy a phone now, I'd buy a Moto G or a Bold 9900...

PLEASE HELP. My SamSung Ace wont turn on neither does it charge. It gives a normal vibration then it starts to flick continuously. What is the problem. Its pretty new about 4 months.

JanSt / MOD  Sep. 22, 2014 at 18:35

What do you mean by "flick"? The screen 'flickers'? Any symbol?
When you connect your phone to KIES on your PC, does KIES recognise it?
Did you change anything? Install apps? Root? Drop it?

Here is already a pile of similar Galaxy Ace stories => http://www.mobot.net/samsung-galaxy-ace-switching-off

In short: it's a bad phone :(
Any warranty?
