My Samsung Galaxy Ace has gone wrong. It keeps going through the start up of turning on and when it gets to the Samsung word it then freezes then does it over again. I can't turn it off or get into my phone. Any ideas?

Sadly, the Samsung Galaxy Ace seems to be quite buggy. Just check out our thread here http://www.mobot.net/samsung-galaxy-ace-switching-off Unfortunately, it's one of the most 'popular' threads on Mobot...

Can you connect your Ace to a PC with the Kies suite? Maybe you can upgrade or restore the 'firmware'? (the operating system)? Or maybe you can at least access files to back them up to your PC before you take the phone to a repair shop. (a repair will most probably kill all your content)

I'd recommend getting a refund under the Sales of Goods Act. Your phone isn't fit for purpose, therefore you can rightfully take it back (unless it's 2nd hand). I'd recommend getting a Huawei G300, instead. Cheaper, more powerful and seems a lot more reliable.

True... though the OP isn'ttelling us how old the phone is, etc etc...
Also, it seems to me s/he's more concerned about accessing info on the device?

The Ace as a whole isn't old enough to be outside lasting "a reasonable length of time" as stated by the SOGA, so the age of this specific device is irrelevant. Samsung also offer a 24 month warranty on all phones, and I don't think any Ace is two years old yet.

As for data on the device...that depends on how willing your Ace is to "play ball".
