After lots of Premium and Prime-related confusion, the Samsung Galaxy Alpha/F (consensus is they're the same thing) picture is slowly starting to become a whole lot clearer.
Its release might well be timed to coincide with the Apple iPhone 6 launch, and now we’re told it’ll adopt the same display size. Fight! Fight! Fight!
That’s the story over on The Korea Herald, which spills the 4.7in display news in surprisingly matter-of-fact fashion. Until now, we’d expected something in the 5.2in arena (give or take a tenth of an inch).
The mention of 4.7in is significant because it’s identical to the rumoured size for the smaller iPhone 6. If accurate, it’s an obvious sign that Samsung intends to go head-to-head with Apple this autumn.
Incidentally, the larger iPhone 6 is tipped to measure 5.5in diagonally, which isn’t too far off the rumoured 5.7in Samsung Galaxy Note 4.
Other rumoured Samsung Galaxy Alpha specs supposedly include an Exynos 5 Octa processor, while a ludicrous thickness of just 6mm has supposedly earned the Alpha the nickname “card-phone”.
For what it’s worth, The Korea Herald says the Samsung Galaxy Alpha got its Bluetooth certification in July, giving credence to the notion of an imminent launch. About bloody time, too.
