What the heck is the Samsung Galaxy Altius? Consensus was it was the Samsung Galaxy S IV, but freshly squeezed rumour juice suggests it might in fact be the smartwatch we mentioned a few days ago.
That appears to be the case according to a series of leaked Samsung Galaxy Altius screenshots from outta South Korea.
There are a few things we can garner from the Samsung Galaxy Altius screenshots, assuming that they are in fact legit. Yeah, let’s be naïve for a change. Too much cynicism will kill you.
For starters, it’s running a dedicated OS thought to be called – you guessed it – Altius OS, with a resolution of 500 x 500. Assuming the display size is 1.5in, that’d yield a PPI of 471.
Oh, and it appears to be connected to South Korea’s SK Telecom, suggesting it’ll have cellular capabilities for maps and email and stuff on the move.
Amusingly, one of the screenshots shows a tiled UI, not unlike that of Windows Phone. Note: whatever you do, don’t call it Metro.
And that’s all we have to go on at the moment. And hey, I almost got through this entire article without mentioning the Apple iWatch. Almost.
