Samsung Galaxy Express hitting UK in 2013 H1

Samsung Galaxy Express hitting UK in 2013 H1Over the past few months, we’ve been introduced to the Samsung Galaxy S III mini, Samsung Galaxy Grand, Samsung Galaxy Premier and Samsung Galaxy S II Plus. Room for more Samsung Galaxy action? Course you have.

Get ready for something called the Samsung Galaxy Express, the latest member of Sammo’s burgeoning Android family. It’s heading to the UK in, er, the first half of the year. So, some point over the next five months. Brilliant.

For all intents and purposes, the Samsung Galaxy Express is a larger Samsung Galaxy S III mini.

Samsung Galaxy Express specs include a 4.5in Super AMOLED Plus display (480 x 800), 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, and 1.3MP front shooter.

As for Samsung Galaxy Express storage, it weighs in at a modest 8GB, but can be extended via microSD.

Operating system duties will be assigned to Jelly Bean (Android 4.1), while Samsung Galaxy Express connectivity includes 4G LTE and NFC (Near Field Communication).

As I mentioned before, the Samsung Galaxy Express will touch down in the first half of 2013 (which seems incredibly vague), while price remains a mystery.

@AhmadCental

My daughter had an Ace 2 for Christmas and loves it - well made and decent spec for a reasonable price. I believe there are better ones available but if you're looking for a nice smartphone are are working to a budget (about £200 in UK for payg or free with contracts from about £15 pcm) then we'd highly recommend it!

A lot of her friends have the Ace 1 which is lower res and specs but about half the price (less than £100 for unlocked handset or free with the cheapest contacts iirc.) On the other hand I think the Siii is the latest model if money is no object although I'm no expert and would be happy to be corrected?

I think the note series are tablet/phones and are bigger than a standard smart phone so not great for pockets - great for people who carry a bag anyway and are looking for a tablet computer & phone combo.

Heard galaxy cookie crumble is quite tasty

@plorp
I'm afraid there is the slight possibility that Ahmad was being sarcastic... ;)

@Ahmad you missed the Galaxy Pro O_O

AhmadCentral  Jan. 30, 2013 at 20:11

Huh.... wow. Yeh like Jan said I was being totally sarcastic. Wasn't expecting to get actual advice haha. But thanks for the advice plorp. I think the ace 2 is a great phone as well.

And Jan, its after the galaxy y pro. I did my research haha :p

Despite Ahmad's sarcasm, that's genuinely good advice.

I also recommend the Ace 2 as a ~£200 new phone. My dad's got one and I've been nothing but impressed with it, from what I've seen.

If you discount the Note 2 as being a phablet, not as phone, then yes you're right, the S3 is the best Samsung model currently available. That said, unless you have particularly tiny hands and a love of skin tight jeans, I don't see that the Note 2 would be a problem for most people (take my word, I own one :p).

You forgot the N-7102, the dual-SIM Note 2 :p.

AhmadCentral  Jan. 30, 2013 at 22:41

oh leave it out Matt :P

And agreed. Excellent advice.

JanSt / MOD  Jan. 30, 2013 at 22:46

N-7102-NFC 4G+ Mini is around the corner. I'd wait for that.
It's like an SGS3 with S-Pen and 640x320 retrOLED

dcx_badass  Jan. 30, 2013 at 23:15

You can get an S2 for about £210 so the Ace 2 for £200 is terrible, especially when the Xperia U is extremely similar and only like £100.

corgi74  Jan. 31, 2013 at 07:57

This phone does not need to exist

bettsy  Jan. 31, 2013 at 08:40

The arrogance of Samsung to think that everyone wants an S3, therefore they can design an entire range around that design.

The lack of design aesthetics & innovation in top manufacturers is frustrating.

JanSt / MOD  Jan. 31, 2013 at 08:49

+1
well said, bettsy

JanSt / MOD  Jan. 31, 2013 at 11:30

Was laughing when Samsung fans called BB10 too little too late while Samsung, HTC and Sony clone their own range ad absurdum and beyond.

Amin  Jan. 31, 2013 at 13:35

for £200 ish i would get a nexus 4 8gb!
