Why is the Samsung Galaxy S II the "best" smartphone?

Lots of people seem to think the Samsung Galaxy S II is the best smartphone out there. What makes it so good?

Good screen, big size, decent camera, world phone, fastest (probably still is) with stable/robust software.
It was best smartphone for quite some time.
I would not consider it best anymore.

The Korean HD LTE version of the S2 is the best smart phone in the world, nothing is faster.

CTPAHHIK - so what is the best android phone now?

conner,
ctpahhik said "not the best smartphone" anymore - it could still be the best Android.
I rate the sgs2 quite highly, but for my personal needs and the way I use a phone the Blackberry Bold 9900 is the best smartphone right now. I can totally see why someone with different 'needs' would disagree.
There will never be a "best" because of these personal differences.

I would highly recommend taking a look at:
Sensation XE
Motorola RAZR
Nexus (new one - 720p)

Saying that Galaxy S2 is best smartphone is very subjective and would be matter of preference. For me S2 feel very cheap and it's enough to prevent me from buying one. Not a big fun of washed out AMOLED screens either, IPS is my preference.

Personally, I would go for LG Nitro - not available in UK. I think it's best one right now.

Since when does speed mean everything? ;)

All smartphones are extremely subjective, what is "Best"... The SGS2 is "Best" if you want a robust android smartphone with an AMOLED display, but imho i prefer the HTC Sensation it just feels better and they perform pretty much the same, i.e games work well and the GUI doesnt lag.

Id say the BEST smartphone for me is the LG Optimus 2x, only because i had a HTC HD2 i.e the coders smartphone wet dream as it supported everything :P. I dont have any problem with custom roms and things like that, the O2x cost me £17 p/m in june where as the SGS2 was £35 and the sensation was preordered around the £32 level. Price is a major point for me, i find it hard to justify spending more than £25 a month when my HD2 (god rest its soul, damn cement block...) does the exact same things (at the time, dual cores were new), and the fact the O2x can outperform the SGS2 and others (VERY small point here as the fact is youd be hard push to notice the difference between either)and runs smoothly with custom roms with a battery life to meet the SGS2 and sensation and ive only had to reboot it three times in almost half a year! So a solid phone for me personally, if you dont like tinkering/custom roms then god help you if you get the O2x as its got the worst reskined OS ever! So laggy and useless the only saving grace without custom roms is that it looks awesome, excellent durability and feels solid while not being to heavy... id rather samsung release a thicker SGS2 with a bigger battery as i find its way to thin!.

Wow, I never thought that DEV support to O2x is so great. What are you using (ROM) on your LG? Did DEV community figure out where to get/source nVidia drivers/radio/baseband? Android 2.3 support?

Devs still trying to get Nvidia to bend over backwards however what we got at the minute is still very good/stable etc. Ive tried cyanogenmod and its pretty solid, used for a few months without problems and bluetooth etc all working fine now (well i think maybe 1080p isnt fixed? never used video camera if im honest...) and thats on version 3.7 i.e its the latest GB release and thats been like it for awhile, only ICS surpasses it but apparently some devs have managed to get nvidia to help them get ICS over and its working barely atm (still better than nothing aye :D).

Currently im using AmnonRom TwentyOne with kernel version 2.6.32.9-HP_2X_Xtreme_RC9 along with the performance pack version 7 i believe (goes with that kernel). Have had one crash in a few weeks of trying it but thats not the rom or phones fault, tried a new game out and it froze my phone... lol, un installed it immediately after that!

This rom is the LG stock GB (its finally been released and ICS confirmed, just waiting on a date now!) but obviously refined and improved massively, cant fault it really and when combined with ADW EX launcher its epic. Theres also Pauls Modaco roms which are also very good!.

Head over to xda theres a bucket load of threads and development now :) Oh and im also using 725 Ril with matching baseband (Version 20L 725)
