Samsung has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S II will go on sale in the UK on May 1. A press release from the Korean manufacturer announces it’ll be “available in the UK across all major networks and retailers.”
We first met the Samsung Galaxy S II at Mobile World Congress in February. Since then we’ve waited patiently to find out when we can get our hands on the dual-core superphone. Now the wait is finally over. Well, almost.
The specs make for impressive reading. The Samsung Galaxy S II is incredibly slim at 8.49mm, has an 8MP camera, can shoot video in HD, rocks a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and sports a meaty 4.3in display.
Samsung uses Super AMOLED Plus technology for the screen. It claims to be energy efficient, so you don’t have to be overly concerned with battery life. Incidentally, Samsung's official specs page doesn't currently list talk or standby time.
There’s no indication of the price from Samsung, but Expansys has the 16GB SIM-free model for pre-order at £499.99.
