Samsung Galaxy S III image and launch date leaked?

Samsung Galaxy S III image and launch date leaked?Well, the new iPad is well and truly here, so the Next Big Thing we’re all patiently (ahem) awaiting is the Samsung Galaxy S III.

As Matt pointed out at the weekend, the most convincing Samsung Galaxy S III image to date has leaked, and – as an added bonus – it appears to reveal the launch date too.

The calendar widget on the purported Samsung Galaxy S III shows an event scheduled for 6pm on Tuesday May 22 in London. The description reads: “Watch a Live Broadcast of the GALAXY S III Unpacked Event”. 'Citing.

That’d tie in with Samsung’s vague promise to launch the Samsung Galaxy S III at some point in Q2, which could - technically - be any time up till the end of June. Bah.

If May 22 is on the money, that means we’ve still nine full weeks before we meet the Samsung Galaxy S III. I’m not sure Matt can wait that long.

Rumoured Samsung Galaxy S III specs include a mostly edge-to-edge 4.6in 720p display, super-strong ceramic casing, an 8 or 12MP camera with 1080p video capture, Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0), and – of course – a quad-core Exynos processor. Sounds good to us.

Doesn't look anywhere near as nice as the one in the samsung video from before.

I'm sorry: 4.6 inches and THAT skinny? What materials are we talking about?
And I saw that pic elsewhere clearly tagged a "mock-up"?!

I want (as far as I "want" and Android phone...) somethin a tad more robust. I like how the Wave 3 is designed. That metal shell inspires trust. So it's ugly. TouchWiz ain't exactly pretty. IMHO...

Ach, whatever... We'll have Treab and Matt posting a million comments once it's out. :p

as someone who generally can't stand samsung phones... i have to say that actually looks nice.

I don't need a new phone either...want is a different story though :p.

Btw, Treab, I sorted my contract with T-Mobile, I got what I wanted in the end ;).

1) Rang them, said I was considering moving from PAYG to SIMO contract.
2) Said T-Mobile's standard plans were a rip off and I was leaving
3) Spoke to the welsh retentions dept.
4) Got 300 mins, unltd texts (5000) and unltd data (750mb at max. speed) for £10 per month

No-one at T-Mob seemed to notice (or care) that I'd already got a PAC code on Friday haha :D. I realise it's not as cheap as some of the cashback deals, but it's far better than what T-Mobile normally offer on their website and £10 per month was my aim anyway.

Also, it's only for 12 months so I'll get an even better deal when it comes round to retention time in March 2013....thinking ahead ftw :p.

Treab  Mar. 19, 2012 at 20:24

not the best or worst deal ever..

still probably shoulda waited for the s3...

coffoholic  Mar. 19, 2012 at 20:55

I got a much better deal from t-mobile than yours last year 300 mins 300txt unlimited land line calls and unlimited broadand all for £5.

Not bad seeing as I was using a PAYG account as my bargaining chip, it's not like I have a 24 month £40 contract to wave around and threaten to cancel. I'm pleased with my deal.
