Samsung Galaxy S III follows the Note’s lead

Samsung Galaxy S III follows the Note’s leadOk, just to be clear: that’s a Samsung Galaxy Note you’re looking at, not a Galaxy S III, but you knew that already, right?

However, if the latest rumours are true, the Samsung Galaxy S III mightn't look massively different from the Samsung Galaxy Note, thanks to an eleventh hour design change.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus debuted Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) last November, and arrived with this many buttons along the bottom of the display: none.

It was presumed that the Samsung Galaxy S III would follow suit, but now we’re hearing it’ll actually be more like Sammo’s ultra-popular phablet.

Korean Digital Daily reports that Samsung was divided over the button issue, but ultimately the Galaxy S III will adopt a single Home button, and a Galaxy Note-style five-column layout for its icons.

Rumoured Samsung Galaxy S III specs are still all over the place, but include a 4.6-4.8in display, an 8 or 12MP camera, NFC support, and a quad-core Exynos processor. Oh, and Ice Cream Sandwich, of course.

Still no freakin' word on the Samsung Galaxy S III launch date…

I reckon we could see 2 versions of the sgs3 a smaller quad core say 4" (for those who dont want mahoussive ones) and then a 4.8" one for those who do...

Can't see they'd both be SGS3 though?

The Note 2 won't come until the end of 2012 and it'll be a bigger S3, I reckon. I want a true S3, a GT-i9500 (I guess), no variation rubbish.

If wasting space to have one button might as well put the others on.

is it only me who hates the samsung home buttons
I much prefer the us versions of the note and s2 where they have 4 touch buttons at the bottom

Nah, I prefer the UK version (and I know the home button **** Apple off, but there's nothing they can do about it in the Uk :p).

I miss my desires hard buttons but most of all I miss the optical mouse on it. Never thought i used it but it's great when you want to edit a word and you need to move the cursor 1/2 spaces either side......
