Before I get into this one, I should mention that we’re currently experiencing the calm before the proverbial storm, with 6,391 new mobiles and tablets expected to appear from tomorrow. As such, there ain’t much going on right now.
Anyway, yes, the Samsung Galaxy S IV will reportedly rock its own 360-degree panorama type goodness, and yes – you’re right when you ask: “Isn’t that the same as Jelly Bean 4.2’s Photo Sphere?” Yes, pretty much.
We’re crediting Android Geeks here, who appear to have some sort of source (specifically a “software engineer”) within Samsung.
The source explains that Samsung Orb will yield “an almost three-dimensional viewing experience.“
Furthermore, Samsung Orb will be “even better than Photo Sphere, courtesy of the S4′s amazing camera.” The Samsung Galaxy S IV is expected to weigh in at 13MP, which of course dwarves the HTC One’s 4MP (joke!).
All going well, Samsung Orb will also benefit from Facebook integration, which is pretty much a prerequisite for Jan these days. "If it don't do Facebook, it don't do," he says.
Other rumoured Samsung Galaxy S IV specs include a 4.99in display, octo-core Exynos 5 Octa processor, and Jelly Bean (Android 4.2).
We’ve been told that the Samsung Galaxy S IV launch will “definitely” go down on March 14, with the release date presumably following within weeks (in an Apple-style one-two, as was the case with the Samsung Galaxy S III).
