The Samsung Galaxy S IV rumour fire is well and truly ablaze, and it’s set to burn fiercer still as we head into 2013.
The latest rumour juice spilling outta Korea proposes April for the Samsung Galaxy S IV launch, and – furthermore – tells us to expect an S Pen stylus. What the…?
The notion of the Samsung Galaxy S IV launch going down in April isn’t too far-fetched, and sits nicely with the vaguely annual Galaxy S launch schedule – the Samsung Galaxy S III having launched in May this year.
In any case, chances are you’ll know all about it well in advance, as we’re expecting a repeat of the frankly terrible “Next Galaxy” campaign.
So, yeah, the launch date rumourage isn’t massively exciting. It’ll probably be April/May-ish, with the actual Samsung Galaxy S IV release following shortly thereafter.
The more interesting thing here is the suggestion of a Samsung Galaxy S IV S Pen. Makes sense, actually.
The Galaxy S range has crept from 4in to 4.3in to – most recently – 4.8in on the Samsung Galaxy S III, and the Samsung Galaxy S IV is tipped to weigh in with a monstrous 5in display (1080p, natch).
Of course, that takes it alarmingly close to the original Samsung Galaxy Note, which measured 5.3in diagonally.
As such, the Samsung Galaxy S IV would be well and truly pushing “phablet” territory, and that 5in display would sit well with S Pen input. And hey, it'd save you straining your tiny fingers.
What do you think, peeps? Is Samsung making a big mistake blurring the lines between Galaxy S and Galaxy Note? Or are you positively aroused at the prospect of an S Pen-loving Samsung Galaxy S IV?
