Wondering which smartphone is truly deserving of your hard earned? Fancy the iPhone 5? Tempted by the Nokia Lumia 920? Rubbing your giant hands together at the thought of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2?
Well, don’t get your wallet out just yet, chap. We’re hearing the first rumours of a Samsung Galaxy S IV launch. And only, uhm, five-and-a-bit months to go.
Supposedly the Samsung Galaxy S IV will make its debut at Mobile World Congress 2013. That’s the word according to sources of The Korea Times.
An anonymous Samsung official reportedly purred: “Samsung is ready to unveil the next Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S4, at early next year’s mobile world congress (MWC) in the Spanish city of Barcelona.”
The first couple of Galaxy S smartphones launched at Mobile World Congress (2010, 2011), but this year the Samsung Galaxy S III had its own launch event.
Consensus is Samsung was aiming for a quick launch-release type thing. The Samsung Galaxy S II, conversely, launched mid-February and went on sale in late April.
The anonymous tipsters reckon the Samsung Galaxy S IV will have a 5in display, up 0.2in from the Samsung Galaxy S III, and almost pushing Samsung Galaxy Note territory.
Mobile World Congress 2013 goes down from February 25 to 28. We’ll inevitably be there, eating pizza slices, drinking San Miguel, and trying to remember that we’re supposed to be "working".
