Samsung might still be the world’s number one smartphone manufacturer in terms of units shipped, but behind closed doors the South Koreans are in a state of utter disarray.
We thought Samsung had adopted the old adage “less is more”, but hot on the heels of the Samsung Galaxy E5 and Galaxy E7, alongside the Galaxy A7, comes the Galaxy J1 – and we’re not even half way through January.
The Samsung Galaxy J1 was first rumoured last year, and a batch of leaked pictures suggests it could launch as early as tomorrow, January 14. That’s certainly the date on the display; whether or not it actually arrives tomorrow remains to be seen.
The leaked Samsung Galaxy J1 press pics suggest the phone is Fun (thanks to the fairly self explanatory Palm Selfie) and Stylish (‘Slim & Easy-to-Grip Design’, ‘Modern Sleek Design’), while offering longer usage on account of the now-familiar Ultra Power Saving Mode.
Rumoured Samsung Galaxy J1 specs include a 4.3in WVGA display, 64-bit quad-core Marvell processor clocked at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4GB internal storage (expandable, phew!), and an 1,850mAh battery.
There’ll technically be four different models of the Samsung Galaxy J1, with or without 4G, and with or without dual-SIM compatibility. Just to keep us on our toes, the 3G models will have a VGA front camera while the 4Gs stretch to 2MP.
