No Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 for UK consumers

No Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 for UK consumersYesterday morning, Samsung blew the lid on the latest additions to its burgeoning Galaxy family, namely the massive Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the colossal Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3.

But before you go getting all hot and bothered and whipping your wallet out, brace yourselves for the news that the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 ain’t coming to the UK.

Being the smaller of the pair, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 – as current smartphone logic dictates – has slightly more modest specs.

Specifically, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8’s dual-core processor is clocked at 1.4GHz (compared to 1.7GHz on its big bro), with a smaller 2,600mAh battery (vs. 3,200mAh).

However, in real-world terms, the major difference is arguably the lack of a 16GB option (though it does have microSD, to be fair).

As such, we can’t see too many people getting upset about the absence of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8 in the UK. The Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 will inevitably be more expensive, but why not go the whole hog and really fill your pockets with smartphone beef?

Or, if you absolutely must have the Samsung Galaxy Mega 5.8, you could always import an EU model from one of the many online mobile retailers.

Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3’s UK release date has been confirmed as “mid-May” (pricing, conversely, remains elusive). Only one month to wait, baby.

Now that Samsung has overtaken apple they need to stop just throwing phones out there like Nokia did in the 1990's 1000s of handsets in space of ~10yrs, they got the note series so whats the point of the mega even tho its not coming to UK

They should slow down with handsets and make them better quality and more unique. from there ace to Note to the forthcoming S4 look all the same.
(coming from a current S3 owner)

Mr T,
I agree, although Nokia's '90 mass produce actually gave us some more unique choices than the current fleet of lookalike slabs.
