Samsung Galaxy Nexus returns to Google Play

Samsung Galaxy Nexus returns to Google PlayThe Samsung Galaxy Nexus was recently served a preliminary injunction, effectively banning sales of the smartphone in the US. However, last week it was listed as “coming soon” on Google Play.

How soon is “soon”? Pretty freakin’ soon. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus reappeared on Google Play over the weekend. Sort of.

You can grab a Samsung Galaxy Nexus for the entirely reasonable price of $399, complete with an injection of Google’s latest – Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).

Incidentally, Jelly Bean is expected to address Apple’s various gripes, including the slide to unlock mechanism, and the ability to search the web and device simultaneously (“unified search”).

Indeed, the injunction was actually suspended on Friday, though Apple is expected to appeal the appeal of the appeal of the appeal of the appeal. Will it ever end?

Shipping time for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is two to three weeks. Of course, this is all stateside. At present, the only device available on Google Play UK is the Asus Nexus 7.
