The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch are both tipped for launch on September 4, at a high-profile two-days-before-IFA-actually-opens event.
Of course, launch and release are two very different things, so the question is: When is the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 (and to a lesser extent the Samsung Galaxy Gear) being released? Answer: September and October respectively. Ish.
We’re looking at SamMobile, which touts week 36 as the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 release date – or more accurately shipping date.
Incidentally, that week encompasses September 4, so you should be able to get your hands on the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 fairly soon after launch. ‘Citing.
As for the Samsung Galaxy Gear, it’s tipped to start shipping in week 40, which is pretty much early October (or possibly September 30, if you want to get picky).
Rumoured Samsung Galaxy Note 3 specs include a 5.68in display, 13MP rear camera, Exynos (3G) or Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 (LTE) processor, 3GB of RAM, and a 3,200mAh battery.
Interestingly, SamMobile says Samsung won’t bother with a 16GB Samsung Galaxy Note 3, which definitely makes sense in the wake of the Samsung Galaxy S4 storage debacle.
Samsung Galaxy Gear specs might include a square 1.67in AMOLED display (320 x 320), NFC (Near Field Communication), 1GB of RAM, and an Exynos 4212 processor.
September 4 is just two weeks tomorrow, man. I’m looking forward to it. Of course, Sony will get the proverbial ball rolling a few hours before Samsung.
