The Samsung Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Note 3 launched at IFA 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively, so you’ll never guess when the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to touch down.
You guessed it, man: IFA 2014! It’s only a rumour at this stage, but feel free to mark “Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch” under September 3 in your diary with a permanent marker.
It’s Android Geeks shocking the world here, and to allay any fears of this being purely guesswork, we’re told that the “same insider” revealed the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 launch date last year.
That guy must have one insanely accurate crystal ball. Any idea when the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will launch? IFA 2015, you say? Sacré bleu!
For what it’s worth, we’re told Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch invites will be fired out in August at some point, while September 3 is the day before IFA 2014 gets underway properly, a classic trade show tactic for the big players.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 design is still very much up for debate, though the promise of a “new form factor” back in March got tongues wagging fervently. Three-sided display, anyone?
Elsewhere, conflicting rumours suggest the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 will stick at 5.7in, same as the Galaxy Note 3, while others predict a leap to 5.9in (the Notes’ display sizes have traditionally increased by 0.2in each year).
Other potential Samsung Galaxy Note 4 specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, 3-4GB of RAM, and a 16MP rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS).
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 might also borrow from the Galaxy S5, particularly the front fingerprint scanner (meh) and rear heart rate monitor (double meh). Maybe give that perforated rear a pass though, guys.
Incredibly, the proposed September 3 Samsung Galaxy Note 4 launch date is just over three months away, by which point the iPhone 6 might well be a real thing.
