Samsung Galaxy Note 4 price to drop 34% in 3 months?

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 price to drop 34% in 3 months? If you were slightly taken aback by the suggestion that Samsung Galaxy Note 4 price will come in at £575 SIM free, well, we’ve some good news for you today.

According to the lovely Katy P (not Perry) at idealo, Samsung Galaxy Note 4 price could drop by as much as 34% after just 3 months in the wild.

Lady K’s working is based on price analysis of the previous Samsung Galaxy Note models over the course of their first 365 days (check out the graph above).

Essentially, things are getting progressively worse, with the Samsung Galaxy Note, Note 2 and Note 3 having fallen by 8%, 13% and 25% respectively after one solitary quarter.

As such, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is tipped to drop to 66% of its initial value 3 months after release, which means you might be able to pick it up for around £379.50 come the New Year (the release having officially been confirmed for October 10).

Better still, if you’re willing to hold off for a full year, a predicted 44% price drop would see the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 selling for £322. Crazy.

Some suggest the smartphone bubble has burst, with Samsung recently enduring its worst quarter in two years, while Sony Mobile has just incurred a massive £1 billion “goodwill impairment charge”.

And heck, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 isn't exactly a massive leap forward from the year-ago Note 3, so we doubt phablet fans will be rushing to upgrade.

As Katy observes, Samsung Galaxy S5 price dropped by 25% in 4 months, too, so if you’re thinking of grabbing a Galaxy Note 4, we’d definitely suggest waiting till Santa’s been and gone.

Nice analysis. But keeping in mind what Apple has done (releasing bigger phones), I wont be suprised if Note 4 price slides further! 10% a month is absurd. As a Note 1 user, still maintaining at middle (3 years going to be completed with Note 1 by Feb 15!!!) and want to make the switch mostly end of this year or next year beginning. Waited too much for a 64 bit phone with 4GB RAM!

They're going for about £350 on eBay here too, though the S5 did seem to be less positively received than the Note 4. That said, if the Note 4 does drop in price that quickly, I might have to get one...

Waited too much for a 64 bit phone with 4GB RAM! Yes, agree re. iPhone 6/Plus - without a doubt it/they will impact on Galaxy Note sales. (and Z2, Z3 etc etc).Including the Note 4.
Come the silly season - when, I suppose, the 6 and 6 Plus will be more widely available (in stock) - I see problems for all high-end phones that are not iPhone 6/6 Plus, tbh...
Anecdote: I know the managers of 2 local CPW outlets and an O2 store - all 3 reckon they haven't taken an order for any non-Apple flagship in 2 weeks or so...
