Samsung Galaxy Note now landing November 1

Samsung Galaxy Note now landing November 1Something in the back of my head told me I’d written this story already, but turns out I was confusing Motorola RAZR landing in the UK on November 1 and Samsung Galaxy Note UK release date confirmed.

This story, which I haven’t written up previously, is somewhat of a mix of both. Y’see, the Samsung Galaxy Note’s release date – previously thought to be November 17 – has leapt forward to November 1. Sweet.

As an added bonus, the price of the 5.3in tablet/smartphone hybrid has come down a tad too.

The Clove Blog writes: “It looks like Samsung may have realised the initial price of £559 for the Note was perhaps a little too high – it’s now been dropped to £495. And it’s a double dose of good news this morning as the release date has also been brought forward from the 17th November to the 1st November.”

That price is before VAT, however, which brings the total to £594.

The Samsung Galaxy Note boasts a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), and 16GB internal storage.

November 1 is a week on Tuesday. So there you go.

thats an awfully risky strategy this is quite possibly a very niche product...

Great news... I was waiting for the unlocked iPhone 4S due to be released in mid-November, but I was teetering between these two phones. The precise screen clipping, note taking, larger phone and earlier shipping date cinches it.

Besides Clove, are there any shops that will be selling it? I'm interested in it and want to make sure it's not too big to fit inside a jeans pocket? Seems a little too big, even bigger than the Nexus.

I think the market needs larger phones. They can be used mainly at home.

Its about the same dimensions as the dell streak and the streak fits in my back pocket along with my galaxy S quite comfortably, both of which have otterbox's on them. The streak having a commuter and the galaxy s having a defender. so yes, it will fit in your pocket.

Thanks for your reply brycestejskal. Did you mean you could fit both phones in your back pocket, because that would be quite impressive. I'd also never heard of the otterbox's before so thanks for introducing me to them as well! I also never realised Dell had a similar device... man, I need to step up my game when it comes to smartphone/tablets!

the dell streak... it was a 5" device which was a little ahead of the time tbh which lead to it flopping... (when i say ahead of the times thats bearing in mind that its not long ago people thought that the iphone was too big at 3.5")

Ah, an early entrant. Are there any other existing (or known future) competitors to the Galaxy Note? And any idea why the Note will not come pre-installed with Ice Cream Sandwich like the Nexus, even though both are being released around the same time? So too with the Droid Razr?

the note was designed with gingerbread in mind for its pen and note taking facility...

motorola are slow with updates ;) so they couldnt get ICS for another month.
