Beats the original Q1 2012 I suppose, though without ICS being confirmed for it, it's got a pretty niche market...

Yeah i was just reading about it on pocket lint... and even though ICS has native pen support sammy arent sure if it will come to the note...

i actually think sammy have lost the plot there...

The Note without ICS is almost worthless, it's got massively high-spec hardware and to be stuck with a year old OS would be madness...I just hope they get some sense when it comes to updating my S2 :/.

Also, on an off topic (but we're the only people here so we're not annoying anyone), note. ICS, I've been watching videos of it running on both the Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus and it's nice but it doesn't seem to add that much in terms of functionality over what my launcher pro plus already offers (landscape support, custom dock, some other stuff). All it really seems to add is a new UI (which I don't like), face unlock (which is a gimmick) and the new multi-tasking from Honeycomb (which looks fantastic)...The ICS excitement has worn off now, I've got my objective head on...

You say ICS doesn't add much, but what if the new design isn't a cosmetic upgrade but more about ensuring a more stable platform. i consider myself lucky i havent seen many soo called bugs but others have done and if google has concentrated on those fixes maybe the fact that ICS doesn't add much it could still (maybe) be a huge upgrade...

Personally i have never seen android as a finished product anyway... more a case of, (here comes a crap analogy...) here is some planks and nails now build yourself a ship ;)

Ooh I've just installed the new Roboto font from ICS on my phone, it's really easy to read and looks lovely and modern, the old Android font was beginning to show it's age, IMO. Personally, I don't encounter many bugs either, I think it's because we both have solid, well liked devices. My HP TouchPad running CM7.1 shows just how buggy android CAN be, when its not optimized fully yet. I think ICS will be an interesting update, I really want it, but I think I'll mainly use the "under the hood", changes, and skin over the not so pretty UI with Launcher Pro Plus...Face unlock will finally give the surprisingly good 2mp camera on the front of my S2 a purpose in it's existence haha :D.

I fully agree btw, out of the box, Android is just a bunch of materials, with which you can make some truly lovely and very functional things. I see iOS as a middle ground on functionality but it's ready out of the box, same with WP7 (at the moment, apparently Apollo will be something special...).

apparently... mango is something special... apparently windows 7 will help microsoft capture the mobile phone market..

wait haven't i heard that before ;)

ios middle ground... how so i saw IOS as the old granny stuck in her ways and wont change ;)

Fair point...oh well, lets give MS and Nokia a fair go, you never know, the combination might grab people's attention (and wallets). iOS is a middle ground in as much as it's already set up for you but doesn't have the endless customization that Android allows, in some cases, encourages, like the S2 shipping with an unlocked bootloader. Good by Samsung there, very good, it's made my life a lot easier haha :D.

your right... the noksoft crossover could work out...

but i bet microsoft were like...

when nokia started going on about how great they are (a few days ago) when they have phones from sammy and htc..

but i will say this about IOS if they are the middle ground who in your opinion are the basement? or does it not exist ;)

@Matt
"HP TouchPad running CM7.1", hahaha. You have not seen Xperia Play running official Android 2.3.3 "Sh*t" from Sony. Now that is buggy. Slow downs, random restarts, apps hanging, phone unresponsive, etc. I think CM folks are pretty damn great job. Morons @ Sony have hands growing out of their asses and both are left.

ICS is nothing special. If Motorola gets software aspect right RAZR will be best phone around.
