How do you make something pretty amazing even more amazing? Aside from releasing it in pink, tweak it - and re-release it. Looks like that's what's happening to the Samsung Galaxy S II in the form of the Galaxy S II HD which may be coming to the UK.
The Galaxy S II HD is not an enormous upgrade - certainly not as enormous as we expect the Galaxy S III to be - but definitely gives a few welcome improvements. For example, that already rather amazing Super AMOLED Plus screen would be beefed up from 4.3in to 4.65in, NFC would be shoved in and we'd also get the 1650mAh battery bumped up to 1850mAh.
Although this is one of those statements that is bound to cause furious comments below, we can personally say that the Samsung Galaxy S II is probably the best Android smartphone (and maybe not just Android) on the market today - even eight months or so after its release. At least, in this writer's humble opinion.
And if it is coming, considering Samsung is expected to unveil the Galaxy S III at MWC, our money's on it arriving pretty darn soon!
