Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean problems

Finally gave in and updated my Samsung Galaxy S3 to Jelly Bean Android 4.3, but now my phone is laggy and gets extremely hot to touch.

What can I do?! Is there any way to downgrade the firmware?

If you want to go back to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 then you can here
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=17332

That's the link for UK Generic firmware for i9300 (if you have a different model just look for it on there), instructions are on the page too, flashing via ODIN is pretty simple.

Custom ROMs could also be an option.

You can, but: lat the phone 'settle in' first.... Give it a full charge and let it run down to zero for a couple of times. The firmware update wipes all data - including battery calibration and such.
That all needs to get back to normal. It can take a week or so after a firmware update until the device is okay again...

If not: you can google " XDA Samsung Galaxy S3 flash firmware xyz" where xyz stands for whatever firmware you want back... Also: the SGS3 is very easy to root. You could flash a ROM that isn't as bloated as Samsung's original ROMs are.
