Some guy called Martin James wrote about the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini earlier this morning. It’s finally all official and stuff.
But it’s not the only S4 variant in the pipeline – far from it. We’re hearing more about the rumoured Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and Galaxy S4 Activ ahead of their expected June 20 launch.
Starting with the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom, we’re told to expect a 4.3in Super AMOLED display (540 x 960), dual-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz (no LTE compatibility), 8GB internal storage (with microSD support), and a 1,900mAh battery.
The standout feature of the Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom is of course its rear camera, which weighs in at 16MP with 10x optical zoom. It’s paired with a 1.9MP front facer.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 Activ, on the other hand, is essentially a water and dustproof variant of the flagship Samsung Galaxy S4. Why not just make the bloomin’ flagship water and dustproof, like the Sony Xperia Z?
As such, Samsung Galaxy S4 Activ specs make for largely familiar reading, with a 5in 1080p display, LTE-friendly quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 processor, 2GB of RAM, Adreno 320 GPU, 16GB internal storage, and a 1,600mAh battery.
Samsung has confirmed a June 20 launch event for new Galaxy (Android) and ATIV (Windows Phone) devices. Potential attendees, in addition to the above, include the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 and Galaxy Tab 3 10.1.
