Is bloatware on the Samsung Galaxy S5 a problem? Does it make the phone laggy or is it not really a problem?

Well, to call Samsung's flagship devices "laggy" would be going to far, but: fact is (numerous tests & comparisons have shown this): Samsung's UI - Touchwiz - and the often over-the-top bloatware makes the Galaxies relatively slow, under certain circumstances. Meaning: other, relatively bloatfree smartphones with comparable specs are faster... sometimes. At certain tasks.
The last Galaxy device I used for more than a few days or a week is the first Samsung Galaxy Camera. The zoom lens aside, it had the specs of a (then) high-end Android phone. It also had Touchwiz and all the usual Samsung 'apps'... It's a disaster. And it's very very laggy.
I'd say I used 2 years older mid-rangers that were faster, less laggy/stuttery. And more pleasant overall.
