And the circle of Android life continues. The latest latest version rolls out, and inevitably everyone wants to know when – or if – they’ll get a piece. Next up on the serving tray is sickly sweet Lollipop Android 5.0.
If your question is “When can I get Lollipop Android 5.0 for the Samsung Galaxy S5?” – you should be hooked up in time for Christmas. Probably.
The December ETA for the Galaxy S5 Lollipop Android 5.0 update comes from the Samsung aficionados at SamMobile. Or, more specifically, their unspecified “sources”. SamMobile is usually pretty reliable, so we’ll run with it for now.
We were several weeks into 2014 before the Samsung Galaxy S4 tasted KitKat Android 4.4. As such, the December ETA for the Samsung Galaxy S5 Lollipop Android 5.0 update will undoubtedly come as welcome news.
There’s nothing more specific than “December”, however, so we could hypothetically be talking about December 1 or December 31, and there’s always the possibility it’ll slip back – not to mention carrier approval and whatnot.
In any case, Lollipop Android 5.0 will debut on the Google Nexus 9 tablet, which will seemingly be released before the Nexus 6 smartphone – sometime around November 3. The current Nexus devices should be around then, too.
That just leaves the likes of the Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 4, Galaxy Note 3, LG G3, LG G2, Sony Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z2, HTC One M8, HTC One… and pretty much any other recent Android phone you care to mention. Beautiful.
