Samsung Galaxy S5 mini: not so small at 4.47in

Samsung Galaxy S5 mini: not so small at 4.47inI’m going to come right out and say it: I hate “mini” Android phones. They’re not small, and nor are they smaller versions of the phones upon which they are supposedly based.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini looks unlikely to change that, with a 4.47in display and very few of the specs or hardware features found on its big brother.

It’s Zauba outing the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini and its 4.47in display size. Remember the Indian site with the imports and the exports? Well, they’ve spotted a couple of units coming in from South Korea “FOR TESTING & EVALUATION & NOT FOR RETAIL SALE”.

Seriously, 4.47in? Four point four seven? It’s worth noting that 0.03in is roughly three-quarters of a freakin’ millimetre, so I think it’s fair to say the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini display measures 4.5in, yeah?

Other rumoured Samsung Galaxy S5 mini specs include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB internal storage, 8MP/2MP cameras, a 2,100mAh battery and KitKat Android 4.4.2.

To be fair, the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini is tipped to come with IP67-certified waterproofing, but I’ll eat Jan’s hat if it comes with a fingerprint scanner on the front or a heart rate monitor below the rear camera.

The Samsung Galaxy S5 mini launch/release is vaguely expected in May/June. Does anyone care? Probably not.

It'll probably cost 2 Moto Gs. Or more.
Though, in fairness: I find the S3 Mini and S4 Mini rather nice to use. They feel very solid. Very 'high-end'... Of cause the S3, in particular, was bug-plagued to a degree only trumped by the 1st Ace...

And alot of people never got the front facing camera on the Ace to work regularly...

And alot of people never got the front facing camera on the Ace to work regularly... True... and that was its strongest feature. Imagine the potential!! You could, like... take pictures of yourself while you're looking at yourself ... like, wow... Could have become a trend. Say, Samsung had enabled it by default and called it the, um, "Selfie-cam"! But no....

I remember the good old days when you would argue with me about the front facing camera...
