Samsung Galaxy S5 is slow to charge.

My Samsung Galaxy S5 is slow to charge or sometimes doesn't charge at all, does anyone else find this?

There can be a number of things causing your Samsung Galaxy S5 to charge slowly or, at times, not at all.

First things first: maybe you think it's not charging? When a modern smartphone battery is totally flat, it can take minutes for the device to show signs of life once on the charger.
Slow charge could be caused by an incompatible charger that doesn't churn out the correct voltage. Or, if you charge via your laptop's USB socket, that may not produce sufficient power.
Or: the charging port is dirty? Take a toothpick and carefully probe... That is assuming the charger works correctly. You check that first by using it with another phone.
On the software side: a software update or corruption can screw with the software for the battery gauge. In that case, a reset can help. And after the reset, it could take a few charge cycles for the battery to go back to normal.
Of course, the battery could be faulty, too. You could try and borrow one in a phone store....

There is also an app in the Google Play Store that you can try. It monitors the phone's charging process and progress and shows any faults or inconsistency. That app is called
Galaxy Charging Current, and you can download it here => https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.abmantis.galaxychargingcurrent.free
