If 2013’s Samsung Galaxy S4 family (that's the Galaxy S4 Zoom, left) taught us anything, it’s to expect millions (ok, a handful) of variants of the spanking new Samsung Galaxy S5.
We’ve already talked Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. Here we turn our attention to the camera-focused chap, the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom.
Thanks to a listing on GFXBench, we have a generous handful of Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom specs to chew on.
The headline feature is of course a 20MP rear camera. It was tipped to debut on the Samsung Galaxy S5, but I rightly predicted it’d appear first on the Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom (otherwise, what’d be the point in the Zoom?).
Other Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom specs include a 2MP front camera, 4.8in 720p display, Samsung Exynos 5 Hexa processor clocked at 1.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, and of course KitKat Android 4.4.2.
To give those figures some context, Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom specs encompassed a 16MP/1.9MP camera combo, 4.3in display (540 x 960), dual-core Pega-Dual processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 1.5GB of RAM, and Jelly Bean 4.2.2.
There’s no specific mention of a Samsung Galaxy S5 Zoom release date here, but it’s expected to land in June, possibly a month after the Samsung Galaxy S5 mini. Let's hope it's not as chunky as its predecessor.
