With the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge launch now less than three weeks away (two weeks on Sunday), everyone and his dog is sharing details about Samsung’s next smartphone flagships.
Here Bloomberg chimes in with the suggestion that both the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will be metal with 5.1in displays.
Bloomberg isn’t exactly telling us anything we haven’t heard a million times before, but the big-name stamp of approval means we’re about as certain as we can be about the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the three-sided Galaxy S6 Edge.
Actually, for what it’s worth, the Bloomers add that the metal frames will be provided by BYD Electronic International Co, a subsidiary of BYD Co., which is owned by Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc. Uhm…
“Samsung need a model with new technology to stop the iPhone juggernaut and to distinguish it from others,” says some analyst. “Although Samsung is continuing to release cheaper models globally to defend its market share, the next S phone is more important because that’s where they make money.”
Samsung has been taking a bit of beating of late from Apple and the various Chinese smartphone manufacturers, and as such has gone back to the drawing board under Project Zero.
The result, ultimately, are the first all-metal flagships from Samsung, one of those being an unorthodox beast with a three-sided display.
Again, we’ll get the full story from the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge launch on March 1.
