Samsung Galaxy S III benchmarked: phenomenal results

Samsung Galaxy S III benchmarked: phenomenal resultsWe're just a week and a half away from the unveiling of Samsung's next flagship Galaxy device (though we still don't know what it's called and only have half an idea what it may look like.)

Nevertheless, we can tell you it's gonna be a pretty powerful son of a gun. Well, you knew that already, but now it's been confirmed by some new benchmarks which have appeared (briefly) online.

PhoneArena sums it pretty well up: "The results from what is likely still a prototype Galaxy S III unit, beat the current Android king Snapdragon S4, beat Tegra 3 by a large margin, take over the iPhone 4S by a tad in most GPU test components, and even hold their own against the mighty quad-core PowerVR graphics in the new iPad'.

It's all pretty exciting stuff. We know the Samsung Galaxy S III will kick some serious butt - but just how much is anyone's guess. Early intimations were that this will just be an incremental update to the already excellent Galaxy S II - but with results like these, this blows the predecessor out of the water. It's 50% faster.

As for other specs, well Amazon Germany has the S III up for pre-order already and claims it'll have a 4.7in Super AMOLED display, quad-core processor and 16GB of internal storage.

We're getting really excited now. Are you?
