Samsung invites us all to Galaxy S IV launch party in Times Square

Samsung invites us all to Galaxy S IV launch party in Times SquareLewis was being oddly cautious the other day when he said Samsung's March 14 Unpacked event was “prob'ly” for the launch of the Galaxy IV smartphone.

Of course it was for the Galaxy S IV, and we all knew that. But the PR offensive has only just begun: Samsung has tweeted an open invitation to a companion event at Times Square, where it'll be showing a live stream the GS4's launch, with the same feed heading out to the rest of the world on YouTube.

The invite, posted by Samsung Mobile, is dominated by the text “Be Ready 4 The Next Galaxy” but beyond that doesn't go much beyond what we've already told you.

With the Samsung Unpacked event itself taking taking place elsewhere in New York (at the Radio City Music Hall), those who do turn up at Times Square will be watching the same stream that you and I will be getting over YouTube, though hopefully on a bigger screen obviously.

The Twitter invite also says they will get to “experience Samsung's new flagship smartphone”. Which sounds suspiciously like Samsung is trying to make the whole thing sound as exciting as possible without lying outright by claiming even one real-life Galaxy S IV will actually in attendance.

When it comes to these live unveiling events, Samsung seen to be beating Apple at there own game.

Surprised that they seem to be rushing this out unnecessarily fast.

Unless they've decided to adopt Nokia's successful *cough* announce then release several months later approach...

Yeah... 2 birds - distract from HTC One and Xperia Z, and launch closer to iPhone Mini/5S/Maxi or whatever it'll be...

I'm hoping for iPhone headset compatibility. All it is is variable resistance buttons, Apple don't hold the trademark on those.
