Samsung mania: Galaxy S4 mini spotted, and is the Galaxy Fonblet 6.3in?

Samsung mania: Galaxy S4 mini spotted, and is the Galaxy Fonblet 6.3in?A double helping of Samsung-flavoured newsage for y’all here. Firstly, while the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch is all too fresh in our minds (I’ll never forget Jeremy Maxwell tap dancing), the inevitable Samsung Galaxy S4 mini has already been spotted (that's it on your left).

We’re also hearing that the Samsung Galaxy Fonblet (Worst. Name. Ever) might weigh in at a monstrous 6.3in – not the 5.8in previously rumoured.

Dealing with the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini first, a series of pics has been leaked to Sam Mobile, where it’s pictured alongside its bigger brothers - among other poses.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 mini spec sheet is said to include a 4.3in Super AMOLED qHD display (256 PPI), 1.6GHz dual-core processor and Jelly Bean (Android 4.2.2). Oh, and it's expected to launch in June/July.

Interesting that 4.3in is now considered “mini”. Back in 2011, many of the flagships (including the Samsung Galaxy S2) were 4.3in – or less. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 5in display, just 0.3in smaller than the original Galaxy Note, a device that was dimissed by many as too big, but defiantly went on to sell millions.

Speaking of large devices, we should – according to Japanese language site ameblo.jp – expect the Samsung Galaxy Fonblet’s display to measure 6.3in diagonally.

We’ll take that with a pinch of salt for now, as the Samsung Galaxy Fonblet is thought to be a variant of the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8, while the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been tipped to measure 6.3in.

And of course, none of the other specs live up to the Galaxy S4 name! Pffft...
First OEM to churn out a top specced 4.3 or 4 incher might get my money. Til then: bye bye, Android. You're too shrill for the big screen :p

I doubt Sailfish/FireOs/Tizen will suit your needs

I agree,
I don't want a 5" slab of glass.. Why are there no droid phones out there with top spec hardware but with a 4.3" edge to edge screen and quality construction? I ditched my S3 for aa Razr i cos the sammy was to big and plastic....

Speedyg, :p
I guess I'll hold out for the Yotaphone.... It's Android, though *omg*
Or I'll shoot a used Z10? Heck, I can always go back to Symbian and 200mHz processors d'oh

Damn, now I confused myself.
But there's hope - I mean, how much bigger can these phones get before some mufacturer see the opportunity to bring back "small"?!

Until someone comes up with a viable alternative to a large display for content consumption, I can't see phones going back to being small.

I think there's the suggestion that MOTO have a new phone with top specs coming soon. Also HTC's one S replacement is rumoured to have a 720p screen, the one S was 4.3" and the One and One X are 4.7" so it seem likely your device will be announed soon ddc.

Well fingers crossed.... There is defo a gap in the market for a quality build top spec hardware droid blower without a massive screen.... Moto X mini??

I quite enjoyed the HTC One S... nice sice etc... but its battery couldn't handle my kind of usage. I didn't even get 6 hours from it. Otherwise I might still have it.

Don't forget the PenTile display, non-expandable storage and easily damaged body...the One S was far from perfect.

yes, was merely suggesting the One S as an enjoyable 4.3-incher... it wasn't perfect. (pen tile ftw :p )
