A last-minute leak yesterday may have stolen Samsung's thunder somewhat, but the company has nonetheless sent out official invites today for its Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 event on 3 September.
And while typically the Galaxy Note 4 phablet isn't actually mentioned by name, there are enough obvious clues – including the slightly clunky phrase “note the date” – leave us in no doubt.
Even without the suggestive wording, the event's billing on the eve of the IFA 2014 tech show in Berlin is exactly when Samsung has unveiled the first three instalments in the Galaxy Note family, and we've never expected things to be any different this time around.
In terms of the Samsung Galaxy Note 4's spec, surprisingly little is confirmed considering its launch is just a month away, but reports suggest it'll have the same 5.7in screen size as the Galaxy Note 3.
Beyond that, we're likely to see a Snapdragon 801/805 or Exynos octa core processor, 3GB of RAM and of course Android 4.4 KitKat.
Full weatherproofing looks likely, but early suggestions of a flexible display seem unlikely to prove on the money.
The Berlin event is scheduled to kick off at 3pm local time – that'll be 2pm here in the UK – with simultaneous launch events also being held in Beijing and New York.
