Samsung Pakistan Galaxy S III concept confusion: not the Galaxy Note 2

Samsung Pakistan Galaxy S III concept confusion: not the Galaxy Note 2You all remember that famous Samsung Galaxy S III concept pic, right? The one with the near edge-to-edge display and the awesome clock and that? Yeah, that one.

Well, it recently caused a bit of confusion out Asia way, when Samsung Pakistan posted it on their Facebook page. Seems some folk thought it was an early peek at the Samsung Galaxy Note 2. Oops.

The concept pic was quite the looker, and adorned many a Samsung Galaxy S III rumour piece across the cyberweb, back when the flagship was top secret.

However, Samsung Russia later clarified that the pic was indeed just a concept rendering, and actually first appeared in the "Imagined Phones" section of the Samsung Phone Owners' Club site.

So it’s not the Samsung Galaxy S III or the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, ya dig?

The actual Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is tipped for launch at IFA in Berlin at the end of the month. August 29, to be precise.

Some lovely guy recently compiled a bunch of Samsung Galaxy Note 2 rumours and specs.

The Note 2 interests me in an "I don't want to buy it, but I want to see the beast" kind of way. I think it's interesting that Samsung themselves released an apparently mocked up image.
