Seriously, Samsung, give everyone else a chance. There's such a weight of Samsung-flavoured product rumours flying around right now, it almost makes us long for the days when we were just banging on about the next iPhone every other day.
This time we're forgetting all the Galaxy Tab and Galaxy S4-related news and returning our focus to the upcoming Galaxy Note III with claims that said Note III could be turning up on our doorsteps earlier than planned.
Before we go on we'll let you know that this is another DigiTimes news nugget, so it could be complete truth, or it could be... well, something else.
And it's not even a fully fledged rumour, but rather an afterthought in a story on Apple potentially looking to release two new iPhones in Q3.
“In preparation for the competition from Apple,” the piece reads, “Samsung Electronics reportedly plans to launch a low-priced version of its Galaxy S4 in the third quarter as well as a new Galaxy Note 3 in July-August.”
We'll forget talk of a cheaper Galaxy S4 for now (for the sake of our own brains) and focus on the Galaxy Note 3.
Existing rumours suggest the third Galaxy Note handset will be announced the same way the first two were – at the IFA tech show in Berlin, which runs this year from September 6-11.
But if this latest rumour is true, Samsung will be repeating the same aggressively short refresh cycle it followed with the Galaxy S III and the S4 in the larger-bodied Galaxy Note line too.
And regardless of DigiTimes' record, that last point at least indicates it's an approach Samsung has taken before.
