Samsung prepping 5.3in Galaxy Q for IFA reveal?

September's IFA show in Berlin is a pretty big deal in the world of consumer technology, but more than likely not nearly as big as Samsung's insanely sized Galaxy Q, which is being tipped for an appearance at the event.

With a rumoured 5.3in screen we can't in all seriousness call it a smartphone at all, even though that seems to be what Samsung is going for. Could be time for a pocket refit, it seems...

News of the Galaxy Q comes from Korean language site eTomato, and we'd typically be a bit more sceptical were in not for the fact that yet another Galaxy smartphone featuring a stupidly large screen is just the kind of thing we reckon Samsung would come up with.

Anyway, further details are thin on the ground, other than the no-brainer that the Galaxy Q will boast a Super AMOLED Plus panel – what else could it possibly have at that size? – and will run Android.

IFA runs from September 2 to 7, making it less than six weeks away, if you're struggling with the maths.

Mmmm, more than likely it's to compete domestically with Pantech's Sky Vega No. 5 which is soon to be released (Korea only) which has a 5 inch screen (1.5Ghz dual-core processor, DMB and 1DDR2 memory).
