Taiwanese manufacturer HTC looks set to diss this year’s Mobile World Congress, with the HTC M7 launch widely tipped to go down just six days before the conference opens its doors. Couldn’t wait till Barcelona, huh?
It’s expected that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S IV at a separate event too, later in the year, but now we’re hearing that the South Koreans mightn’t hold a Barca press event at all.
That’s the story according to the dudes at Pocket-lint, crediting people “familiar with the matter”.
Samsung will, however, still have a presence at Mobile World Congress, with a presumably giant stand showing off some of its 1,294,513 Galaxy devices. Oh, and its Windows stuff.
And not forgetting the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which JK Shin has confirmed will be in attendance. Looks like it’ll be getting a decidedly low-key launch. Poor chap.
With Sony having already announced the Sony Xperia Z at CES 2013, and Apple away in a world of its own, that leaves Huawei (expect the Huawei Ascend P2), ZTE and Nokia to carry the show. Not hugely exciting, eh?
