Samsung: 'take the next step' at midday on Monday

Samsung: 'take the next step' at midday on MondaySamsung is being a big fat tease where the successor to the Galaxy S II is concerned. Indeed, the recent invite fails to mention any device by name. Or does it?

The invite asks us to: “Come and meet the next Galaxy” on May 3, and now a tweet from @SamsungMobile reads: “Destination: tgeltaayehxnx”. That’s quite clearly an anagram of The Next Galaxy, or perhaps The Galaxy Next. Très intéressant.

More interesting still, www.tgeltaayehxnx.com has a countdown pointing to midday today. Or at least it had; the site is currently down. Presumably it's melted due to an insane amount of traffic. Mibbe. EDIT: it's now at zero. What's going on? Argh!

The Next Galaxy/Galaxy Next countdown page promises: “Coming Soon. You can take the next step in: [countdown]”. Only one hour to go...

We’re quite sure the invite and the countdown are related, so we’re not expecting to learn too much in an hour’s time. Maybe we’ll get some sort of teaser video or something.

Oh how we’ll laugh if this turns out to be another 10.1in Samsung Galaxy Tab.

I've finally got the countdown running (the server is overloaded with traffic), it's not actually at zero yet, though when I was trying to get through earlier it told me 00:00:00 too. So, the countdown is still working and does still end at 12:00 UK time.

Well, that was (unsurprisingly) uneventful. A crappy teaser video, thanks, Samsung.

My favourite bit was rearranging the letters. Really took me back to primary school. Sigh.

"Following technology blindly often gets you nowhere" - I wonder who they could be possibly refering to? C'mon Samsung, pull the ad campaign out of the gutter and show us why people should buy one of your products rather than talking trash.

So was I...and I'm looking forward to this phone's launch.

Why am I getting the feeling this SGS3 is going to be strangely disappointing :(?

Maybe because most phones have been - seemingly so. So much hype these days; 1000s of rumours and promises? An anticlimax is inevitable after too much "too much"?!

well, either way my contract has expired, so HTC or Samsung will be getting some money from me!
