New Samsung ad takes another poke at Apple

If you're going to take the mickey, you may as well do it properly!

And Samsung is doing just that with its latest cheeky take on Apple and its stereotypical user - the second advert in a week to hit the web showing Apple types in an unflattering light.

This time we're treated to an Apple fanboy reeling off a list of apps to his Android nemesis, who quickly says he has every single one that Apple does before delivering the killer line: "And I got to try mine before I bought them!" Classic.

It follows that other advert earlier this week which depicted the same bunch of queuing Apple drones queuing outside a retail store to get their hands on the latest iDevice whilst being taunted by owners of a Samsung Galaxy S II. Incidentally, while just watching it back, we noticed a huge prominence of Starbucks cups in most people's hands. Bizarre.

Anyway, we wonder how long it'll be before Apple launches some kind of lawsuit over the ads. It'll probably find some obscure way to prove Samsung has infringed copyright in some way and will try to get the ads banned. Of course top marks would be to hit back with some Samsung-baiting ads of its own - the ball's in your court, Cupertino.

Ah shame, the first advert was pretty good but in comparing the SII and iPhone on Apps, iOS blows android out of the water with respect to apps availabili, app store organisation and quality of apps

"Movie editor?" "not got it", "Music editor?" "Not got it", "infinity blade, hunters", "not got it", "jailbreak and installed xbmc?", ":-("

I do think this range of adverts is excellent however, well donne Samsung

Not as good as the first one but still pretty funny .

I agree with Stelph though, app availability on Android still isn't as good as on iOS, though the gap is closing IMO.

Btw Stelph, the SGS2 has an App called "Video Maker", built in. It's not available on the App store as it's a Samsung App, but it's pretty much the same video editing App I think you have to pay for on iOS.

@matt101101 - Ah didn't know that, sounds excellent! Ive always wondered why android doesnt have any video editing apps, especially with the rush up to quad/octo cores

Yeah, it was a pleasant surprise when I bought the phone haha . It's a pretty good App tbh, I edited a couple of holiday videos without having to use a PC, which was nice .
As a general rule I agree with you though, Android doesn't have the same prowess in the App dept. that Apple does.

There's no need for lawsuit, the fans will handle this. Very simple here, either they apologizes for the ad and remove the ad, or they lose Apple fans who were purchasing their products. They should have think twice about bashing the customers, because Apple fans were also buying their electronics too but they must have forgotten about it.

Don't see Apple being mentioned in the ad. Think however wrote the article is confused. You don't think that says more about you considering seems everybody else gets it no problem. Looks like an apple store, people generally acting like the widely perceived stereotype of an apple fanatic, the queuing something more associated with apples devices, they're all using iphones, the choice comments/dialogue- specially in the longer ad. Seems more your purposely trying not to see the obviously implied.
Picture you give doesn't really look similar to me. I've watched this and the full length ad and I can't really see why you're highlighting those small icons off in the background lost among all the others. Maybe you could elaborate.
I think they've gone as far as they can implying without actually stating its apple and the iphone4s for any possible legal reasons I'm sure.
